Exhibition
Great Apes' Portraits
Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle
Paris
From April 9 to September 30, 2011
This art installation of large format photographs (6.5 ft x 6.5 ft) offers to enter the world of the great apes through their portraits. Taken in the African sanctuaries and the American and European zoos, these portraits show at first "personalities", and not only great apes' species : bonobos, chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans. Through the depth of their eyes, they challenge us. The exhibition is also intended to draw the public attention to the threats to the endangered great apes in their natural environment.
